Paso Robles (El Paso de Robles) is a city in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. The population was 24,297 at the 2000 census. In 2007 the population is at 29,297. 2010 population estimate is around 32,000. Paso Robles is the fastest growing city in San Luis Obispo County. The population estimate for 2025 is 44,000. An incorporated city located on the Salinas River in north San Luis Obispo County, California, the region is known for its hot springs, Mission San Miguel, Mission San Antonio, the California Mid-State Fair, water skiing and fishing at Lake Nacimiento, fishing at Lake San Antonio (famous for Striped Bass), annual Wildflower Triathlon, Wine Festival, golfing, surfing, camping, Hearst Castle, wineries and vineyards, olive orchards, and recently, in gourmet olive oils. In English, "El Paso de Robles" means "The Pass of the Oaks."

Templeton (5 miles south of Paso Robles) maintains a rustic charm and has several fine restaurants and gift shops. It boasts one of the finest public schools in the state. The medical community is growing in leaps and bounds, providing comprehensive medical services and is home to Twin Cities Community Hospital serving north county residents.

San Miguel is the most rapid growing town in the north San Luis Obispo County area. Affordable housing and new homes are abundant, and the main street is currently redeveloping into an esthetically pleasing and "business friendly" atmosphere. Supervisor Harry Ovitt has contributed significantly to the progress in San Miguel.
